Former Borgward’s marketing executive said to join Ford China as vice president of PR
Huo Jing, marketing director of Borgward Group AG Sales Company and executive managing director of Borgward U.S. R&D center, has reportedly left Borgward and will join Ford China as vice president of public relations, effective on February 25, according to Chinese media outlets.
Ms. Huo has rich experience in cross-culture and cross-region businesses and wealthy knowledge about Chinese and global markets as well as the information era. According to published records, she had worked at Nissan and Infiniti as director of public relations business for Chinese market. Besides, she had also taken the post of senior manager of external affairs & PR department at BYTON and served for NIO's North American supply chain and procurement department.
Ford Motor suffered a year-on-year plunge of 36.9% in China sales, with 752,243 vehicles sold throughout 2018. Its joint venture Changan Ford was even halved over a year ago. Huo Jing's participation is expected to get the automaker's sales in China back on track.
To raise the sales performance in the world's largest auto market, Ford Motor plans to transfer the production of 5 models to China, including a premium SUV under Lincoln brand and the company's first all-electric small-sized SUV. The global carmaker is attaching increasingly more importance to electrification. It aims to roll out 50 new models in China by the end of 2025, including 8 all-new SUV models and no less than 15 EV models.
